Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a Velco account or using the Velco platform (velco.cc or the Velco mobile app), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Velco.

2. Who can use Velco

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Ride at your own risk

Cycling involves physical risk. By joining or organising a ride through Velco, you acknowledge and accept that:

• You participate in rides entirely at your own risk.
• You are responsible for your own safety and fitness level.
• You must comply with applicable traffic laws at all times.
• You must wear a helmet — we require you to confirm this before joining each ride.
• Velco and its operator (Ferry Goyen) are not liable for any injury, death, property damage or other loss arising from participation in rides organised through this platform.

4. Organiser responsibility

If you organise a ride on Velco, you are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete ride information (distance, pace, route).
• Choosing a route that is safe and appropriate for the stated group level.
• Informing participants of any changes or cancellations in a timely manner.

Velco does not verify the accuracy of ride information provided by organisers.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use Velco to:

• Post false, misleading or harmful content.
• Harass, threaten or abuse other users.
• Create fake accounts or impersonate others.
• Send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or other users' accounts.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

Velco reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove accounts that violate these terms.

6. Your content

Content you submit to Velco — including ride descriptions, notes and GPX files — remains yours. By uploading it, you grant Velco a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and share it with other participants of the same ride. You confirm that you own or have the right to share any content you upload.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data. By using Velco you agree to that policy.

8. Availability and changes

Velco is provided "as is" without any warranty. We may change, suspend or discontinue the service at any time. We are not liable for any downtime, data loss or other disruption.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Velco after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, Ferry Goyen is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising out of your use of Velco. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed €0 (the service is free of charge).

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
